‹Programming› 2019
Mon 1 - Thu 4 April 2019 Genoa, Italy
Tue 2 Apr 2019 11:00 - 12:30 at Colombo - Hands-on Session

Software Language Engineering (SLE) is concerned with the principled techniques and concepts for the construction of software languages. In this tutorial we will explore how the Rascal metaprogramming environment and language workbench addresses aspects of implementing software languages. We will work on a simple DSL for defining questionnaires, called QL, touching upon syntax definition, static analysis, transformation, language extension, and code generation.

Tijs van der Storm is senior researcher in the Software Analysis and Transformation (SWAT) group at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam, and full professor in Software Engineering at the University of Groningen in Groningen. His research focuses on improving programmer experience through new and better software languages and developing the tools and techniques to engineer them in a modular and interactive fashion.
